Summary of the project

The development and execution of our Project will be based on questions such as: the reconsideration of the current production, the commercialization and consumption models. The main goal of our work will be an analysis of reality from a critical approach. It would be taken as a good device to lead to a transition for better and sustainable consumption and production habits. Instructive tasks will promote the information, explanation and awareness about a conscious, solidary and quality consumption. We will perform some information and promotion programmes on regional and local consumption. We will perform some information and promotion programmes on regional and local consumption. Not only we will focus on that but also on those that can reduce the negative effect of active tourism regarding environmental, sociocultural, economic and sustainability areas. All these programmes will take place in the different school centres along the region of Cádiz, and they will be addressed to every level of secondary school education. By means of that, we try to encourage all citizens active participation, having the support of the elder via cultural partnerships. Consumers´s education is highly important due to the fact that the lack knowledge is a way of activating an irrational and excessive consumption, it also contributes to the delay of social values, so we must have consumption as object of study both for young and adults.

Summary of the project

We present Tekelab as a collaborative and participatory process with agents, communities and subalternized situations, which makes use of techno-politics as a tool for communication, organization and action, from the perspective of childhood and youth, and as an axis of socio-cultural integration and of early labour training.
Tekelab is a civic space for children and youth, oriented to learning and the collaborative development of technological applications, creation of transmedia narratives and recovery of computer components, in which people themselves are part of the process, who decide in first person, what they want to generate and for whom, in response to a previous process of diagnosis and mapping that is part of their neighbourhood, and of sustained encounter and dialogue throughout the development of the project with the neighbouring communities and their needs. On the exploration of their city and the dialogue with the different agents that inhabit it, we map spaces, uses and disuse, institutional and informal resources, coexistence and conflicts, and elaborate, enunciate and disseminate joint proposals that put (or seek to put) sustainability of life in the centre, from the questioning of hegemonic, colonial and adult-centred approaches, towards a collective reconstruction of neighbourhoods as key pieces of democratization and of social and political change.

Summary of the project

The Consumer’s Union of Cordoba counts among its objectives to raise awareness of vulnerable consumers towards a responsible consumption, making the selection of products and services based not solely on quality and price, but also on its environmental and social impact and the actions of the companies which offer the product. A responsible and sustainable consumption also implies consuming less, no more than necessary, and not being influenced by publicity, which creates superfluous needs and leads to consumerism. Through training programmes and practical, active-participation workshops we hope to raise awareness about a need for a social change with respect to our consumer habits, being jointly responsibly for our purchases and use of services and for the environmental and social impact of its production.

From our organization we wish to transmit a new model of consumption for the young who may be vulnerable consumers because of their age, or due to the influence the consumer society has over them. Given our more than 30 years of experience, holding informative training workshop on responsible consumption in schools, colleges and youth-clubs, etc., while also counting on subventions from town councils in the province with a shared interest in consumption and environmental protection, we consider ourselves experts at taking the initiative in this project with novel, participative activities which involve young consumers directly.

Summary of the project

this project develops a campaign that allows us to make visible the role of migrant women in the process of social creation and transformation, based on commitment and solidarity as an alternative to the crisis, and to spread our experience of generating sustainable and responsible spaces through our project “Comer en Compañía” (eating in company), an intergenerational and intercultural space with an eco-feminist perspective. We propose, as an alternative to face poverty, generated in the individualism ethic which promotes an excessive consumism denaturalized of its social function, our experience in a collective process that has created a virtuous circle between organic gardens and the social dinning and that presents the recycling as an effect of solidarity and responsability. We do so by taking as inspiration the contributions of the people that has managed to turn their hardships into opportunities and the crisis into factors of growth, and by highlighting the effect of the making of human networks as a strategy of survival and social transformation, networks that have been built in the crossroad of three crucial factors: Woman, interculturality and bio-sustainability and also over the guiding principle of respect for people and the environment. For this, the project proposes and encounter with institutions and people that put forward similar propositions in order to bloom synergies and stimulate common growth with new perspectives.

Summary of the project

This Project intends to contribute to guaranteeing modalities of production and consumption (ODS12). In Andalusia there exist several initiatives of networks and markets for local, ecological and fair trade products. However, these initiatives are fragmented so they only reach a very specific sector of society. The activities envisaged for this project seek to increase the number of people who know this type of suppliers and experiences, as well as to improve the visibility, formation, coordination and synergies among the sustainable production organizations of Andalusia. To this effect, the intention is to bring together these initiatives under the umbrella of the Social Market of Andalusia, as a network of production distribution and consumption of goods and services, connecting the different initiatives in a single circuit, shared and coherent with the principles of Social and Solidary Economy. In this way there will exist the capacity to organize fairs, workshops to develop awareness and formation, as well as to promote the Thematic Focus on Social Markets in the Third International Congress for Social and Solidary Economy that is being organized by the University of Córdoba and REAS Andalusia, planned for December, 2018.
