Summary of the project
The project is an initiative aimed at improving the Waste Management System in Huelva Province involving the population of the village of the Province in these management processes by providing information on the problem of urbanization, waste and alternatives such as reuse and recycling. In order to do this, an itinerant exhibition and complementary awareness-raising activities will be carried out.
The project represents a firm commitment with circular economy concept, an economy in which » in which we keep resources in use for as long as possible, extract the maximum value from them whilst in use, then recover and regenerate products and materials at the end of each service life». This requires an alliance with citizens, and in order to achieve it is necessary to provide them have information about the programmed obsolescence. To this end, the project aims to inform and raise awareness about the obsolescence of the objects we use and its environmental consequences, as well as on the alternatives to these practices that are available to citizens (prevention, reuse, recycle etc.) by making known the programmed obsolescence and its effects on the population of the municipalities and offering to the population the needed information to ensure that they can carry out a correct separation of waste
Beneficiaries
It is expected that this project will reach a total population of 35,000 people and have a direct impact on some 5,000 people who have direct responsibility for waste management. The project will lead to waste reduction and direct increase in reuse and recycling rates.
